kallend 2,032 #1 July 19, 2013 www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jul/19/bert-trautmann-manchester-city-germany I remember watching the match on the BBC when he played an additional 17 minutes after breaking his neck. Now a slight graze and they writhe on the ground in "agony".... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

BillyVance 34 #4 July 20, 2013 Bo Jackson played a series for the L.A. Raiders on a broken lower rear leg bone (I think the tibia) before the pain got too much. Both Greg McElroy and A.J. McCarron have played in big games with broken or separated ribs as QBs for Alabama. Texas QB Colt McCoy is and always will be, a sissy. ryoder 1,590 #5 July 20, 2013 Tyler Hamilton: "In the 2003 Tour de France he cracked a collarbone in the first stage, and stayed to finish the tour. That year, he rode one of the Tour's most memorable feats. He won Stage 16 with a 142 km solo breakaway, and placed fourth overall." Ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyler_Hamilton From his book "The Secret Race": He ground his teeth so hard through the pain that he had to have 11 of them capped or replaced after the race."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. CanuckInUSA 0 #7 July 20, 2013 Some of the toughest athletes around are the guys who race Moto GP. Jorge Lorenzo finished 5th riding with a broken collar bone Dani Pedrosa cleared to race, also with a broken collar bone The Moto GP guys are definitely NOT pussies when it comes to competing in pain. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
jakee 1,501 #8 July 20, 2013 Jean-Christophe Peraud, crashed during morning warmup for the mountain TT at the Tour De France a few days ago and broke his right collarbone. Decided to bandage up and ride the stage anyway, and on the final corner of the last descent, with about 1.2km to go, he did this.Do you want to have an ideagasm?
