(Cutters used to be the same as the rest of the Cypres but at some point they upped the life from 12.25 years or 12.5 years, to 14.5 years. So they go a little longer.) You know, I've thought of installing an old AAD on a main with spring loaded pilot chute and set it to go off at 2500 to 3000 '. I think that would be a kick to just freefall until your main opened automatically. . . And yes, I'd have a ripcord backup.
