G.Anvil 0 #1 December 1, 2004 Sorry guys loads of questions; Is a precision pack the same as a psyco pack? Ive just bought a next nv3 container with a vtec190 main, 15 jumps on both. Getting the main into the d-bag is a real pain and leaves about 3 inches of fabric exposed . It all goes nicely into the container once its in the d-bag... Should I think about trying a precision pack or getting a larger d bag? Cheers for any help!
beezyshaw 0 #2 December 2, 2004 Yes, they are one and the same. As the originator of the psycho pack/precision pack, we only decided to change the name to get away from the funny looks of people when you said "I psycho pack" my canopy!
masterrig 1 #3 December 2, 2004 Try, getting with a rigger or packer for help and tips. A larger 'D'-Bag, won't really solve the problem. The 'D'-Bag is sized to fit the main portion of the harness-container. You might lessen the hassle of getting the canopy into a larger 'D'-Bag but, you would have to wrestle the larger 'D'-Bag into the container. bsoder 0 #4 December 2, 2004 I psychopack my sil230, I MUCH prefer psychopacking to propacking. Just make sure you have enough length in the bridle between the canopy and the bag, or get an extension. When I pack my wife's main (sabre 190) I start with a psychopack but then rather than rolling it I flip it back over and z-fold it because the bridle is too short. I still like it because I can open it up and make sure lines are straight, nose is really rolled so it won't smack on opening, etc. I get much more on-heading openings with this packstyle, that's prob just me tho. G.Anvil 0 #5 December 2, 2004 Thanks guys, my bridle does seem a bit short for psyco packing, but the z fold method goes in really well. I'll just have to get used to the small d-bag!
