What I notice at the dz is how many people from from so many different backgrounds can get together in an environment free of any socio-economic labeling and have a great time. jtval 0 #29 January 15, 2002 out of personal experience i've noticed that the majority of white people are insane! if you talk about skydiving(or any extreme sport) most black people think it is way too dangerous too risk. when i was in the states i took 31 ppl to do thier first tandem at my dz. i spoke to about 9000 ppl about jumping. here's how they sifted out.white guys (about 20 of them)- most feel like its something to conquer so they gotta AT LEAST try it.(and most liked it)white girls(about 10) just wanted to hang out with this handsome Italian guy that was so interesting to them they wanted to spend some time in my world.and one black guy who was above the stereo typical mentality about everything. and when he came to my dz. he loved his jump.he said he would do it regularly if it wasnt for the money. coincidently so did about 20 of the white ppl. there were mostly military so we were all broke.so , my assessment of it is this.economics/skin color/age/ height/girth has nothing to do with it, its all about desire!Have fun, LIVE FREE, SkydiveJT Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Wesley Snipes could swoop, land on buildings, beat up other big guys at boogies, talk in freefall, and do demo jumps onto the whitehouse lawn after an 8 way! and this was all in his first week! Heck, if this movie was longer he'd a caught up to Gary Bussey in no time! The real reason is that people of color are discouraged from jumping by the little known AFF INSTRUCTOR"S UNION After seeing that movie they figured, " if this is any indication of the future... we're out of a job!I think that this is as logical explanation as any.
