dropzonefool 0 #1 December 4, 2004 HI all, I am thinking about retiring my tempo 170, it has a couple of deployments on it and a number of repacks, maufacture date is '93. I currently jump a wings W-10. Which states that a PDR 160 or a Tempo 170 will fit tight. Of course I want the biggest reserve I can fit in it. So do any of you guys know weather a Smart 160 or a 170 will be the size for my contianer? I have an email into wings about this but I do not expect a reply till monday, Areodyne has a 40% off X-mas gear sale and I want to place my order quickly, any info would be greatly appricated. blue ones, simmy
GravityGirl 0 #2 December 4, 2004 The smart has a bit more reinforcement that the Tempo. It packs up larger. I don't have the specs here now, but could get them in the AM. The smart is sized closer to a PD. I'm willing to bet you'll be under a Smart 160. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! slotperfect 7 #3 December 4, 2004 QuoteThe smart is sized closer to a PD. I just had the same conversation with Sun Path this week. They just finished the Smart/Javelin Odyssey compatibility chart. The info I got from Mike that will help here is that the Smart packs up a little smaller than a PD Reserve, but not a whole size smaller. I agree with GG that you will likely need a Smart 160. But don't just take our word for it; your best bet is to call Sunrise Rigging and discuss it with them: (813) 788-1910 info@skydivewings.comArrive Safely John
jsconn 0 #4 December 4, 2004 I would personally recommend you go for the Smart 160. The next size up is a 175 and not really comparable with the Tempo 170. The best answer will obviously come from Sunrise but I think they'll probably give you the 160. Jody Conn Aerodyne Research 12649 Race Track Rd. EAerodyne 0 #5 December 4, 2004 Hi Jacob, If Henry, Anki, Colon or any of the crew over at Wings don't know for sure. I'd be happy to send a Smart (or a bunch of them) over to their shop (only 40 miles away) to size it appropriately. I unfortunately cannot answer your question regarding which one will fit best in your Wings container, as I feel that question is best fielded by one of the helpful staff over at Wings. Kind regards and blue skies

An honest answer from a canopy manufacturer! Will wonders never cease? Yeah! Like Bushman said, only trust compatibility numbers published by container manufacturers.
