Meso 38 #5 November 19, 2012 Good man, spending the majority of the time where South Africa is at its best. The weather here has been alright, though it could have been better. I imagine Phinda was quite amazing though, I still need to head up that way to do more birding. I am a useless South African, having lived here my entire life and never actually been to a game reserve...

Well unless you go to private land, that is shocking make sure you experience africa, you never know when life changes. My wife only went once or twice (she'd not been before she met me) and regrets not seeing more.Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. Meso 38 #12 November 21, 2012 My main problem is that all the nice game reserves are either very far north, or very expensive. But I do spend a great deal of time enjoying the local nature surroundings and go to a variety of smaller nature reserves and national parks in the Western Cape.
