Heh, we just got a new flatscreen at work (only 42" or so though, sheesh) but the yellow sticker on the front said it had an estimated yearly operating cost of... $9! livendive 8 #27 October 26, 2012 One lazy eye = zero interest in current 3D programming. The technology will have to make a huge leap forward for me to be interested in it. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

ryoder 1,590 #29 October 26, 2012 Quote Quote Quote Everything else aside, I find it distracting. I don't like alot of the HD stuff. I don't need to be able to see the blades of grass on a ball field or the dust on a table in a movie. Dude seriously, my 60" is fucking AWESOME for watching the MotoGP, the detail is amazing and the digital slo-mo, is great. I LOVE IT, just for that. Yuppers.. the 3D LED rocks it AND is a hell of a lot more efficient than my old plasma. Take a look at the wattage ratings of new plasma TV's. Over the last few years, they have dramatically improved, so the difference between LCD & plasma efficiency is not nearly as great as it used to be."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Solar panels actually work where you are at in that freakin desert... but when the BIG TREES shade your home.. or the sky dumps 2+ foot of snow on the roof... not so much. My plasma on the wall just sucked up electicity ... and you could FEEL the amount of heat as you walked past it.. the LED.. nice and cool.. less AC to cool the place down.
