jono 0 #3 October 18, 2012 Maybe it's a childhood boy thing but seeing that in person would blow my little mind with thoughts rocketing off into space in search of adventures in far flung galaxies. It certainly looks like it's done a few "laps". The people who flew in them really know the meaning of exciting... although I once heard that Neil Armstrongs heart rate didn't go up at all during the takeoff of Apollo 11. He must of been one cool cucumber. Remember you don't stop laughing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop laughing.
airtwardo 7 #4 October 18, 2012 I saw it at LAX. ~ years ago I worked at an aerospace plant that make the large directional main engine nozzles for the shuttle...I ran my hand across one last week thinking about handling it 20 some years ago before the burn marks! Armstrong was 'cool', Cooper even cooler, he fell asleep during launch...but IIRC Carpenter's pulse rate was lower than any of them ever. He was a track star in Colorado, his heart rate & respiration were WAY lower than everyone else's, through the whole program. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~

He said his heart was too old to go any faster. On 22, I think Aldrin's was the lowest. My wife is hotter than your wife.
