Iflyme 0 #1 February 28, 2001 Just over an hour ago, a big earthquake hit the Seattle area - some reports peg it at a magnitude 7. We felt it here in Victoria, about 60 miles or so north of Seattle ... anybody in the Seattle area on-line?Frank
Craig 0 #2 February 28, 2001 That is a pretty signifigant magnitude. Surely there will be damages involved and widespread outages of utilities. I just heard Seattle-Tacoma International was shut down.Craig
Fawgdog 0 #3 February 28, 2001 Yah one of my skydivin bros just moved down here from Washington and has missed all the fun riots and such, now he missed this big event too... :-)
diver123 0 #4 February 28, 2001 I live down in Portland and we felt it pretty strong down here too! It was shaking the walls inside my office and stuff, but noone was hurt here. "pull high! It's lower than you think..."
Shark 0 #5 February 28, 2001 Yeah, Rock-n-Roll! Pretty freakin weird. I was talking to a friend of mine when it all happend. She said that she thinks they're having an earthquake, then dropped the phone and then I could hear stuff rattling, crashing to the floor and voices screaming (including Jennifer's). Whoa, that was really a trip to hear all that shit happening and not being able to do a thing about it. I then turned on MSNBC and watched all the junk. And, yes, I still need to jump.Peace
SkyDolphin 0 #6 February 28, 2001 I'm in Seattle. Well Redmond. I was in my office at Microsoft this morning when it hit. The building was swaying pretty good. Pretty freaky. There doesn't seem to be too much damage here. Just a few cracks in the walls and things fallen off of shelves. I got a report that no damage done at Kapowsin Air Sports. This was my first Earthquake.CASE OF BEER I know I know.Rhonda

jtval 0 #9 March 1, 2001 I wasnt even close but I heard somewhere that when pilots flew over a 'quake. the ground rolls like if you dropped a stone in the water. it makes sense when you know how they work but it's gotta be freaky to see...can you imagine jumping when a quake hits... totally detached from the rumbling etc but seeing it and landing when its all over. that'd be insane(just something i always thought about) hope everyone is o.k. 13bRotary 0 #17 October 10, 2012 Oh damn, my cover has just been blown to pieces.... Well, I might as well go ahead and get this out. I've known this for years, ever since my last girlfriend. I've always been so afraid to tell anyone, afraid I'd be picked on, made fun of, and shunned by my fellow community. It's time...time I came out of the closet. I am in fact, a black man.
