Amazon 7 #1 September 14, 2012 I came to the Pacific NorthWET for the first time 40 years ago. During that time I have travelled to some of the visually stunning places that can be seen in this video. Some friends far away wonder why I love it here. I think this film is a good start on an explanation. http://www.kplu.org/post/video-stirring-time-lapse-pacific-northwest-scenes?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=FBKPLU25

oldwomanc6 60 #3 September 14, 2012 It may be cold and wet, but it has real mountains. I'd give up the rounded hills they call mountains on the East Coast, for real mountains. Although, I'd rather have the real mountains in the Southwest Deserts. I miss the west. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB

It's alway very novel for me to visit place with mountainsI just checked, the highest point in my entire state (and my state is HUGE) is 1,253 metres (4110 feet)You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! The Colorado Front Range usually feels warmer than the Pacific North Wet, it's a lot drier (that whole alpine desert thing with 300 days of sunshine a year thing), except when you're actually in the mountains (some of which net 400 inches of snow a year), has real mountains, and the snow there is drier so alpine sports are better. Of course, there's no ocean. I tried both sides of Lake Washington but only lasted 18 months.

Then there also the traffic issues. Jobs can be hard to come by, and it's very expensive to live here. It's a nice place to visit but you wouldn't want to live hereR. It's a lot nicer on the east side of the mountains,at places like spokane, tri cities has lots of work sine there going to be cleaning up the radioactive waste left over from the cold war forever.
