Niki1 1 #53 August 9, 2012 The Fabulous Thunderbirds don't get much air time but really are, well, fabulous. And I'll toss in an obscure one hit band. The Strawberry Alarm Clock. Mainly because Jimmy Pitman, the lead guitarist, jumped at Palatka through the '70s.Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. "Tomorrow" peaked at no 23 on the charts, so tehnically not a one hit wonder, although all anybody remembers in Incense and Peppermint"What if there were no hypothetical questions?" Meux 0 #55 August 10, 2012 Savoy Brown had some good stuff, as did Ten Years After. Did anyone mention Blind Faith? The last time this classic rock thing came up I spent hours on You Tube watching old videos, great fun.
PLFKING 4 #56 August 11, 2012 I think Jo Jo Gunne toured with Savoy Brown for a while. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia0vOOjCCNo Don"When in doubt I whip it out, I got me a rock-and-roll band. It's a free-for-all."

Shotgun 1 #59 August 12, 2012 Currently listening to my "Guess Who" station on Pandora, and they just played this old gem from Randy Vanwarmer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0i442TVA52E (apologies for the cheezy video, but so many of these old songs don't have "official" videos)

jimjumper 25 #70 August 13, 2012 If you find Zappa interesting, he also scouted out and got signed a number of really bizarre bands and individuals. Try the Fugs (Live at the Filmore East is my favorite), Ed Sanders (solo Fugs member), Wild Man Fischer, the New York Dolls, and Captain Beefheart. Not really great rock and roll but damn it's entertaining!
