Yes it's amazing that technology allows us to make up where our stupid US car culture leaves us behind, it was much easier to meet people when I lived in Europe and took mass transportation. However when we do get together are we communicating or are we just there?Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. Use every bit of social media at your disposal to meet and interact, but when you are with somebody in person you absolutely have to UNPLUG to make sure you're getting the most of your time with them. I haven't done it yet, but am probably going to try it this Friday when the wife and I go out on a double date with another couple: the idea posted here that everyone puts their phones in the middle of the table at the start of the date and the first to have to pick up their phone pays the tab.
