Zoter 0 #26 January 17, 2005 QuoteOr hows about the altitrack having a little 'addition' that fits in the palm of your hand and vibrates at the preset altitudes...... Deuce that was just my suggestion.... L& wont pick it up for a while....they are 'out' until February... Anyone here got any concerns over a digitally controlled altimeter?? I've used one for every jump since late 2003. If it fails (as ANY alti can do), my eyes still work. Blues, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team
Lostinspace 0 #28 January 17, 2005 Quote. I couldn't find any prices on any of these new toys. Could anyone else? L&B’s webpage states products will be available in 4/5 months. BadDog already put these up on their site with costing. “***Feel free to contact us if you would like to verify that we have this item in stock or to request additional information before you place your order. If this item is not in stock, it will be backordered.” (I think I still want a Pro-track.)
Paige 0 #29 January 17, 2005 The alti track is super comfortable and contoured to your hand. Much much better than the other needle altimiters on the hand.Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
Zoter 0 #30 January 17, 2005 I guess its just a matter of time before a GPS unit is incorporated into these units..... Initially just for review pre exit /post jump.....but then maybe some HUD kinda thang for the Birdmen... Its all good...... adamUK 3 #32 January 17, 2005 The way mobile phones are going these days, Nokia will have one that vibrates, has polyphonic ringtone, camera, GPS, dytter, video camera. AAD, is capable of turning a decent number of points in a 4 way if you let it loose in freefall and is can make calls as well Adam.

jerry81 10 #37 January 17, 2005 QuoteIt just gets me giddy thinking about all the new cool toys and how we can use them skydiving Blues, Ian My first thought when I saw the ads was that L&B have definitely overdone it- I mean, you have a basic audible, a more advanced audible with canopy alarms, a digital visual that screams at you under canopy and an analog visual that records your jumps. You could fit it all in two instruments, tops. I was certain they overestimated our need for new devices and the ever-present urge to buy cool stuff. Obviously, I was wrong. Also, I can't decide which one I want first...

sundevil777 102 #40 January 18, 2005 The bottom just fell out of the Neptune market, I think. At the prices advertised by Bad Dog, a used pro-track should now go for well under $100.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. CygnusX-1 43 #41 January 18, 2005 With all of the new toys they are coming out with, why is it that the only one that has bluetooth is the altitrack? Or did I miss something? My biggest complaint is that I have to take my protrack out of my helmet to download it to my computer.
PhreeZone 20 #42 January 18, 2005 Looking at the specs its the only one that offers logging still too. The Altitrack and Protrack are the only models they have that offer the logbook functionality and the ability to download jumps.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

I hate to get off topic, but this has been boggling my mind since I read it. Is it possible to drop something that is already falling? If you let go of it, and it goes down, I can see it as dropping, but what if you let go and it goes up (relative to yourself) ?

murrays 0 #45 January 18, 2005 QuoteAt the prices advertised by Bad Dog, a used pro-track should now go for well under $100. I don't think so. None of the new "dytter" models do data logging so I think the Protrack will still hold its value. They will drop in price because of LnB's price drop but I can't see them for less than $100. They are giving the data logging audible market to Neptune. I am puzzled by their decision.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
AndyMan 7 #46 January 18, 2005 QuoteThe coolest thing I see is the LED light that goes along with the audibles. Looks like it will fit in all three of the electronic digital versions. That will be a very big seller with camera fliers and birdmen, who aren't continually checking thier visual alti's. Absolutely, I just hope you can change colors. The last thing I want is to see a blinking red light, and not know if it's a cam-eye warning, or pull time. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. LouDiamond 1 #49 January 18, 2005 How about passing along data recording beyond 119 secs on the new models? I didn't see mention of it, if it's there disregard.
