I remember one Turkey Boogie @ Perris, young and single, chowing down a triple decker at Wendy's in Perris for my Thanksgiving meal. I was skydiving, so who cared? We're having about a dozen people over, We'll have a 22+ pound turkey, brined, smoked, then slow roasted. I haven't tried the brined style yet. Still on the maple bacon kick._____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

One time my wife and I were sick and had to cancel our travel plans for Thanksgiving, and not having any food for Thanksgiving dinner, we ended up driving around looking for a place that was open. Ended up at Cracker Barrel. Hey, it's better than McDonalds! Ended up at Cracker Barrel. Hey, it's better than McDonalds! In 1998 I was living in Los Angeles, and my brother was stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, so we decided to get together at his place instead of flying back east to be with our parents. Neither of us was particularly motivated to cook, so we hit one of the casino buffets. In 2000 I was on a trip to Thailand - we were transitioning between cities on Thanksgiving Day, but both hotels (the one we checked out of in the morning, and the one we arrived at that night) were offering Thanksgiving dinners for their American guests. The timing didn't work out, but that would have been interesting to see. (The hotels we stayed at did a pretty good job with Western-style breakfast, so maybe it wouldn't have been all bad)."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. Shotgun 1 #30 November 21, 2011 We're doing the Tofurky this year. I'm making fresh cranberry sauce and a lot of veggies to go with it.
skymama 37 #31 November 21, 2011 We have a 22 lb turkey that will be cooked in the convection oven in one of those roaster bags and Mark is going to smoke a ham so we can have leftovers. At last count, we'll have 14 people, including kids. Mark and I are having his family over this year. It will be Mark's first Thanksgiving at his house. My kids will be with their Dad at a family reunion, the rest of my family will be at my brother's house. We have a new cornhole game in LSU colors to keep everyone occupied and having fun. Mark surprised me with the color choice, I thought for sure he'd come home with Harley colors!
