DrewEckhardt 0 #7 November 15, 2011 Quote Is it worth trying to repair the screen on a $500 laptop. Dam kids...... Yes. A replacement 15.6" 1366x768 screen can be a $60 - $100 part. You might be able to get a low mileage used one for less from some one who replaced it with a higher resolution part.
dgm458 0 #8 November 15, 2011 That's only for the part though. If you have to have it installed, that's the part that's makes it not worthwhile. If you can install it or know somebody that can, it's worth it.-------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail

jonstark 8 #18 November 15, 2011 My daughter sat on hers and Apple wouldn't cover it so I bought a used but perfect condition screen on e-Bay then used iFixit for instructions. Saved $650 by doing so. Go for it although I am not sure where you'd find instructions for the R&R. jon
