normiss 798 #1 September 29, 2011 Can you get them where you are? To go? Any legal limitations by state or locality on size? We're downsize limited in Florida to 32oz. Dammit.
quade 4 #2 September 29, 2011 Why would any normal human need to drink more than 32 ounces of any liquid on at a time? My guess is it's not so much about local laws as local demand for such an oversized container.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

billvon 2,990 #5 September 29, 2011 >Can you get them where you are? Yes >To go? Yes >Any legal limitations by state or locality on size? No limits on size. You can get 1 gallon growlers locally. One very annoying detail of the law here is that it has to be a growler from the brewery; you can't (legally) fill a Ballast Point growler at Port Brewing. billvon 2,990 #6 September 29, 2011 >Why would any normal human need to drink more than 32 ounces of any liquid on at a time? Heck, I brought 5 gallons of beer to the drop zone last weekend! Growlers are great when you have a bunch of people (say, a meeting of homebrewers, a BJCP meeting or some skydivers) who all want beer.

In MD, they are only to go. Most are 64 oz., but I have seen a new style that is 67.3 oz. Only places that brew on-site are allowed to fill growlers, but legally any growler from anywhere can be filled as long as it has a surgeon-general's warning on it. I have 8 growlers (people keep gifting them) and I collect stickers from micro-breweries so they look like steamer trunks lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB

Usually to take home. http://www.freundcontainer.com/product.asp?pn=4001b03&EID=FD110106pop12&gclid=CPm2otXLw6sCFYSK4AodjEFzzg Doesn't Oz have them?lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB
normiss 798 #10 September 30, 2011 You've described my understanding of growlers. 1 US gallon - Florida legally limits them to 64oz. To go - that's the whole idea! I didn't realize you couldn't "share" refillers. In fact I thought that was part of the purpose.
