WatchYourStep 0 #1 September 16, 2011 Getting ready to buy some outerwear for this upcoming season....how important are the waterproof and breathability ratings? 10,000/10,000 seems to be pretty standard. I've noticed in most of the clothing lines you can move up to 15,000/10,000 for a small amount more. Is that jump worth it? Any tips appreciated.... d_squared431 0 #3 September 16, 2011 Go with light wt higher end outerwear. Just cause it is thin material doesnt mean it wont keep you warm and dry. It is more comfy and easier to move in. Whatever you get make sure you have pit zips and leg zippers. here are a few links... get yourself some nik-wax and cat crap. http://www.nikwax.com/en-us/ http://www.ems.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3656746[/url] http://www.mountainhardwear.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-MountainHardwear_US-Site/default/Default-Start?mid=paidsearch&nid=Brand_Other_Core%20Brand&oid=Brand_Core%20Brand_Misspellings&did=mtn%20hardware&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=mtn%20hardware&utm_campaign=Brand_Other_Core%20Brand&eid=google_us&gclid=CJa1vbTNoKsCFYw32goduxV3oA http://www.eternalsnow.com/brands/686-snowboard-outerwear.htmlTPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly

I just layer up in the morning and take stuff off as it gets later in the day. I'd rather have too little on and be cold on the ride up then have too much on and be sweating by the end of the run, I tend to end up in places that I have to hike out of too and that seems to keep me warm enough. Rookie120 0 #8 September 16, 2011 If you go with a top brand, (Bonfire, Burton, K2, Solomon) you will be taken care of. These are lightweight but keep you dry, warm, and breaks the wind. I have coats and pants in all brands listed above and never have any problems and I have been out in all conditions from a sub zero blizzard to a rain storm slushy mess. Good luck this season. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
