burtonjm 0 #1 August 11, 2011 http://www.eonline.com/news/rebecca_black_drops_out_of_school/257427 QuoteWho dares mess with our "Friday" girl?! Unfortunately, not everyone was a fan of Rebecca Black's viral YouTube hit (yeah, we were shocked, too) and decided to take it out on the young singer at school. During an interview with ABC's Primetime Nightline, Black discusses the bullying she endured which ultimately led to her mother's decision to have the 13-year-old home-schooled. MORE: Rebecca Black's New Video: Is It as Awesome (or Awful) as "Friday"? Friday has now turned out to be Rebecca's least favorite day. Black explains that classmates would taunt her by asking what day it was or by singing the tune "in a nasally voice." It became too much, even for her mother. "It's hard to go to school when you are so famous and to have kids constantly making fun of what's going on," she said. However, home-schooling won't end the massive amounts of death threats and horrible comments Rebecca receives each day, but the young lady won't let that overpower her. "I've had a lot of experience with not being liked and all that," she said. "I think if I hadn't had to deal with that in the past then I totally would have handled this differently and I would have gone down in burning flames. But I've learned that you just can't let it get to you." Attagirl. So does this mean there won't be a sequel to "Friday"?This shit, right here, is OK

Abedy 0 #3 August 11, 2011 QuoteSo does this mean there won't be a sequel to "Friday"? There is a sequel already, look at her channel One might consider her music artificial or whatever but things should never end in taunting and harassing. The same happened to the boys of Tokyo Hotel. (Another example of controversial musicians, but at least they managed to get into the limelight themselves and didn't need any "Talent Show") After they got famous they had a hard time at their secondary school and were called faggots etc pp. Kids/Pupils can be very cruel, mainly due to enviousness and jealousy I suppose. The sky is not the limit. Kinda dumb, but thats just my opinion and as a 46 year old male, I'm clearly not in the target demographic. Theres certainly nothing offensive about it. Just a kid singin a song. I cant even imagine why someone would send her death threats __ My mighty steed

Meso 38 #7 August 11, 2011 Well, it became a lot more than just a song though. It became a huge internet meme because of her terrible lyrics, such as stating that Saturday and Sunday come after Friday. It spread to millions of people in under a week. I don't think there's very many people who genuinely like the song, the lyrics are possibly the worst ever written and her singing is below par for a singer, but it got all it's millions of views as a novelty song and from people mocking it. Despite all that though, it's always proved surprisingly catchy. Maybe that is why she is getting death threats, people raging because they've got it stuck in their heads ;)

Misdirected anger then. Send the death threats to the people that are playing it over and over and over.__ My mighty steed
