oldwomanc6 52 #4 June 13, 2011 Congrats to her and you! Scary fast. Mine are 25 and 20. The weird part is that even when they go away/and/or become independent, they are still there. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB

Bertt 0 #8 June 14, 2011 I'd love to tell you it gets easier, and I don't know about daughters, but with sons: You worry they'll get hit riding their bicycle in the street; then you worry they'll get hurt playing football; then they start skydiving; then they start swooping; then they join the army (a couple of years ago I had one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan at the same time); then they buy a goddam motorcycle. It's always something, and I bet with daughters it's worse. You don't have to outrun the bear.
shah269 0 #9 June 14, 2011 So is she going to write a book? This is why I will never have kids! Because I know full well they will write a book about all I did or did not do or did too often or not enough.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. shah269 0 #11 June 14, 2011 Nah it's because I'm very selfish. And I'm ok with that! But congrats Foss! Will you be throwing her a party? Or maybe buying her a tandem as a graduation gift?Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. fossg 0 #12 June 14, 2011 I have offeres the tandem. However her mother (and my soon to be ex wife) regards anything concerned with skydiving as pretty much being in league with the devil....

livendive 8 #14 June 14, 2011 Quote It does. 14 through 16 is pretty hellish... Subsequent years can be kinda tough too...my 22 year old daughter led us through a significant drug problem from 17-20, with all the fun corresponding side-issues, and is moving to another continent in August. If she gets homesick, she know the way back. I still remember your story of your ex-wife calling you to come over and talk to her because she was being a shit. So you told her off, and she goes up the stairs to her bedroom, with extra emphasis on the last few steps with "shit" "shit" "shit" "Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
