I often PM people about stuff said in the forums, just as you would take someone aside in real life to have a private conversation. Maybe it's to keep from embarrassing someone, or maybe I have a safety concern that I don't need to drag the whole DZ.com through. Always remember the leadership principle of "Praise in public, chew out in private." There's plenty of good reasons for a PM. However, I've been out of town and off DZ.com.
