Shotgun 1 #27 April 17, 2011 My first thought was The Who's Live at Leeds, but no, I think it has to be the Nirvana Unplugged album. Man, I love that album.
tbrown 26 #28 April 17, 2011 "Ladies and Gentlemen - The Grateful Dead" ! Recorded in April 1971 at the Fillmore East in NYC. A 4 disc box set of the Dead's final 5 night stand before Graham closed the place. They were still young, lean and completely insane, with a very tight basic sound after the departure of their second drummer and keyboardist. Truth is, practically ALL the best live albums in those days were recorded at Fillmore East. That old theater had incomparable acoustics. Hendrix, The Allman Brothers, Clapton, Jefferson Airplane, as well as The Dead all recorded their best live releases there. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity ! Niki1 1 #40 April 19, 2011 QuoteSkynyrd's One More From The Road is the definitive live album. Seger's Live Bullet is a close second. Don Those were the 2 that came to mind immediately. AND Woodstock and The Last Waltz. I would also add (and I'm not sure it counts in this context) Les Miserables concert recorded in 1987.Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Many jazz and 'big band' musicians of the 1930's and 40's and composers thought weed was the spark of inspiration and used it regularly. Chuck
