npgraphicdesign 3 #1 March 24, 2011 I'm trying to cut sugar out of my regimen completely, but still can't handle drinking coffee/tea without anything sweet. So what's your take on the different sweeteners, which one is better/worse, etc?

Just put Baileys in it - it will do nothing for your health, but pour enough of it in your coffee and you'll stop caring! missbrz 0 #3 March 24, 2011 Are you going for better or worse health-wise or taste-wise? Health-wise, they all suck for you. (I still use them all the time though.) If you're just going for taste though, I prefer Splenda. I think the other two have weird after tastes. There is also that new stevia as well. It's also called Truvia and Purevia. I haven't tried it yet though.
Andrewwhyte 1 #4 March 24, 2011 Suck it up and drink your coffee black for a month. You will wonder how you took it any other way. I did this twenty-five years ago when my father developed type 2 diabetes. Today if I take a drink of sweetened coffee by mistake it is hard not to spew it across the room. It helps if you drink good quality coffee.

skygirl1 1 #6 March 24, 2011 My Doc explained to me that artificial sweetners were worse for you than pure sugar. He explained that the artificial sweetners caused sever headaches and many more side effects. I guess you could look it up for yourself to be sure. Good Luck! " Mean people SUCK!" That's down to the aspartame - stay well away from the stuff - although it's in so many products these days that's easier said than done. http://www.sweetpoison.com/aspartame-side-effects.html
NWFlyer 2 #10 March 24, 2011 QuoteTo me, Splenda tastes the most like real sugar. Ditto. Equal in a hot beverage is HORRIBLE. But if all you're doing is putting a spoonful or two in a cup of coffee, not a huge deal. Now, if it's 3 spoonfulls in 10 cups, that adds up. Where you really need to worry about sugar is in processed food and chain restaurant food. It's everywhere. The only sure way to avoid/minimize it is to make everything yourself."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. Coreece 190 #11 March 24, 2011 Quote Just put Baileys in it That'll work...I used to have 1 or 2 baileys and coffee in the morning before work when I was in Hollywood. Very mellow, no buzz and made it very easy to deal with those conceited big shot "know-it-all" producers. I managed a local coffee shop for about 4 years and always advised customers to go regular sugar. The fake stuff is not worth saving the calories.
