Man On Wire

If you have not seen this, go watch it. Right now. Without thinking twice go watch it.

It is one of the most incredible documentaries i have ever seen. The planning and dedication is simply staggering.

Saw it last weekend. Really well made film. Pretty amazing that they were able to set up the cables in one night.

Saw it tonight ( Netflix streaming ). Amazing footage and story!

While watching my mind kept flipping between our own BASE jumpers and the planning and emotions they must go through and the views of the World Trade Center from it's conception and building to their destruction and lives lost. My body physically jolted when that one freeze frame came by with the jetliner flying over top of the towers.

I agree. A must see!

Yes!!!

saw it quite a while ago......
tbrown recommended it.... as did one of my brothers...

I was also impressed with the stealth, AND technique that they used, to run that line from one twin tower to the other. Also enjoyed the actual footage of P Petit in his youth, fine tuning his artistry...

My brother Peter WAS in NYC that day and witnessed the occurence LIVE !! from a sidewalk below...

there really IS something special about a person with a vision, and the determination to carry it Out!!!!

Great film. Great footage. I'm a huge documentary fan and this was one of my favorites.

There is an IMAX documentary about skydiving/basejumping called Adrenaline Rush that is pretty good.

Best recent documentary i've seen was called Dear Zachary: A letter to a son about his father.

The logistics of running a bandit operation like that are daunting. Just scouting out the rooftop, let alone getting the cable up there, strung and stabilized is a story in itself.

We LOVED this film so much that my wife snapped it up the moment she saw it in some DVD sale bin. So now we can watch it anytime we want !

An excellent viewing...thanks Andy. For those of you who haven't already you really should.

I was moved by the realization that the towers are no more and no one will ever be able to say they did that again. To be in the group of people who can claim being the only person to ever have done something..wow.

Amazing achievement, fantastic story, great filmmaking.

It was a shame I didn't warm to Petit himself - maybe it just goes with the territory when you're as driven as that, but he seemed to have little consideration for anyone else involved. And when he reveals that the first thing he did after completing his stunt was go and have sex with someone who wasn't his girlfriend - :o.

There's being a 'character', and then there's being a rat...
