CarrieByTheSea 0 #151 March 17, 2011 I caught video of this today via the news and just skimmed this thread. I was never bullied physically or via any other means, however, my position is: Ignoring abuse one-way-or-the-other is never the best option. You can play smart, but you must play if you are being played with to such an extent. It boils down to the most effective method of response to the given stimulus. Typically the kind of person who seeks to bully is going to be empowered by the perceived weakness of those they bully. Ignoring the situation might seem like the more noble response to me and the next sane person, but to the bully it corroborates their initial perception and thus encourages their deluded behavior."Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
billeisele 130 #152 March 18, 2011 the bullying stopped when... picking on me at lunch, taking my food etc. while they were all laughing amongst each other my fork went thru his hand between the thumb and first finger pinning it to the wood table since no one was looking and there were many versions of the story I got away with it :)Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.

DrewEckhardt 0 #155 March 19, 2011 Quote For kids that age ... days off school is NOT a punishment, it's a badge of honour When I was in junior high "suspension" didn't usually mean "days off school." It meant "in school suspension" where you go to a windowless room, do school work, and don't get let out for lunch. I was pissed getting sent there for defending myself against bullies with the school neither protecting me from assault nor letting me do it myself. When Columbine came around my first thought was why hadn't kids snapped and done that sooner?

He looks like he has an attitude problem and certainly doesn't *seem* to feel bad about what he did... Looks to me like he's upset he got caught... Pulling the victim card when you are at fault is the wimp's way out. Of course I don't know the full story... But from what I've seen I'm finding it hard to sympathise with him... The program that is airing this crap is quite probably THE most pointless excuse for "A current Affairs" program in OZ. It nothing more than normal school yard bollocks that has somehow taken the feeble minded Reality TV watching moronic publics attention.
