JohnRich 4 #2 February 10, 2011 For what sin do you seek forgiveness by sacrificing a lamb in freefall? Did you go low on a 20-way or something? I think the beer rules already cover that situation.
thrillstalker 0 #3 February 10, 2011 i think you have a typo in the sudject. it should read "skydiving is religion""Never grow a wishbone, where your backbone ought to be."

I don't think Zoroastrians practice animal sacrifice, do they? I don't recall that from when I studied that religion.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

You mean the first wing suiters? http://www.glogster.com/media/2/5/53/82/5538231.png The three layers of feathers represent good words good thoughts good deeds Say good, think good and be good. A very Zen way to live life, if you can pull it off. I try. Hardest part, "Say good" Nice people. Beautiful ancient religion. Very peaceful. The sacrifice of animals, in particular sheep and goats goes back to well before Zorastor. But it is still alive and well today. But it has to be carried out correctly or it is deemed to be "haram" or a sin. I don't think trying to pull this off in free fall would work. But if you ask me, Skydiving is if free of the drama a very peaceful religion. From the number of you I have had the pleasure of knowing I would say you all impart in a way the basic Zorastrian truths of, good words good thoughts good deedsLife through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. Yes the "eternal flame" is a sign of enlightenment and purity. Think Prometheus with out the loss of liver. But yes, I would say in a way if the drama would be removed from the sport Skydiving and those that partake have in a way formed their own religion based on the simple love of friends, family and gravity.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay.
