QuoteI'm not any kind of math expert, but here is some figuring that I did.
Considering your equation of:
Beautiful = Messed up
then
Crack whores = messed up
But seriously?
Crack whores = beautiful
This math just does not work out.
Prime example of why women will never have 50/50 representation in STEM fields.

Oh c'mon now...
Try using a Venn Diagram
1. Draw a large circle which represents Messed Up(MU).
2. Then, inside the MU circle, draw a smaller circle which represents Crack Whores(CW)- because ALL crack whores are messed up.
3. Now draw a circle that overlaps part of the MU circle but does NOT encompass or overlap the CW circle at all. This is the circle for Beautiful People(BP). The part that overlaps with MU-represents the BP that are MU. The part of the BP circle that is outside the MU circle represents the BP that are NOT messed up. (Overlap the BP circle into the MU circle as much as you see fit.)
As to why women aren't representin' in the STEM fields...hmmn... that's a topic for a whole other thread entirely

Oh for fucks sake! Really? That's where you went with the crack whore?
My intention was to post something stupid and ridiculous because this is a ridiculous and sexist thread that doesn't really merit much thoughtful consideration.

if you leave aside the fact that one rape is too much what, to you, constitutes a 'huge percentage'

Although I understood exactly what parallels you were establishing, I don't think that the OP was truly trying to be "ridiculous" with the initial post.
He was wondering about his personal experience and even stated "I am not propounding this as a universal constant." as the first thing in his initial post.
OTHERS in this thread though are just using it as further justification of their superior beliefs founded on shallow principles and personal bias. In those cases, it's a slim chance that ANYONE (male or ugly/bitchy female) would be able to teach them logic. Their argument is NOT based on truth values. It's based on "I'm right and you're just a [insert] beautiful and fucked up girl [/insert] / OR [insert] ugly girl that no one would want to date anyway [/insert]"
Laws of Boolean algebra don't apply to such ignorant arguments.

Although I was offended by that statement, I chose to just ignore that. It just showed to me his lack of understanding about the truth of rape issues. He believes that only the beautiful women are raped or that it is a lust issue. Would pointing out the truth change anything? I chose to be superficial about the "not important" part of the thread.... rather than try to educate someone about something that is truly important. Right or wrong, I didn't want to have someone with minimal or no knowledge about the true trauma of rape telling me that I was wrong. Because this is the bonfire, I wanted to just keep it lighter.
But... you are right and lets go there.
Rape is an act of VIOLENCE AND POWER, not passion. It's an attempt to hurt and humiliate, using sex as the weapon. Rapists act without considering their victim's physical appearance, dress, age, race, gender, or social status. Assailants seek out victims who they perceive to be vulnerable.

Here is an example.
I was dating this GORGEOUS Hungarian girl, green eyes, red hair, amazing legs....porno quality sex. Long story short she was a little nutty. She did not believe in American medication and thus had her family from Hungary sending her the usual stuff you and I take for granted.
Was it messed up? SURE! Did I forgive her? YOU BET YOUR ASS I DID!
Why? What part of gorgeous with porno quality sex don't you get?
The only thing that falls from the sky is birdshit and fools!

I see where you're coming from, but I can't really agree here. Here's why:
1. It's easy to blame "society," but when it comes down to it, nobody can tell me what that means. Certainly "society" is not a single person controlling social standards, and surely it is not an emergent property of peoples in an area. I think it's the whipping boy of a culture of those who need to explain away their problems.
2. If this were true, what property would make it exclusive to attractive women? By your theory I would expect unattractive women- and men- to be affected MORE.
3. Why don't men seem to display this behavior? Unless you're implying that men are somehow less vulnerable to insecurity (and I don't think you are).
4. Who is really teaching a need to "fit in"? I was always taught to embrace the "things that make me special," a concept that I find to be pretty universal. Even if we WERE teaching people to "fit in," wouldn't being less attractive than those enhanced beauties make you... fit in?
I think we need to accept that, sometimes, the victims have few to blame but themselves. Once we acknowledge that, we can help them.
The reason only women bitch and whine about this issue, about how the society is shaping people and forcing crazy beauty ideals on young women and blaa, blaa, blaah is simple.
Women are herd animals. Women cannot function as individuals. Women always have a peer group they adhere to. Women are all about everybody doing the same thing and getting along. Nobody, in womens opinion, should ever do their own thing and go their own way.
Think about it. How many women you know who do their own thing and risk potential social isolation due to going their own way. Not that many right. Now think about how many men you know who do that.
Hell the whole history of the mankind is built on the fact that men went out of their way to go against the grain of the society Galileo Galilei, Christopher Columbus etc.
I know theres bound to be a response from some chick saying 'well i'm not like that'. I don't care. Women in general are like that and just because you aren't doesn't mean dick all.
Wow, that seems like a pretty strong generalization.
While I stand by my original feelings on the issue, I submit that all people are "herd animals" in this way.
I'm not arguing that attractive women are crazy, or that women in general are any more crazy than men. I'm simply saying that people in general (including these "messed up beautiful women") have a tendency to blame others for their own problems.

If rape is about power and violence then why is there porn of it?
If its in no way a sexual act then why are there simulated rapes made for purely pornographic purposes?
