loumeinhart 0 #1 January 14, 2011 I'm just piling on. I've gone about 60miles max. Had opportunities at 120 +/- miles but never made the trip because the odds of it not happening trumped the drive time/gas.

ryoder 1,590 #17 January 14, 2011 ~200 miles. GF's parents didn't like me, so to get her away from me they sent her to the adjacent state to live with her sister & brother-in-law. So every Friday eve, I drove there to see her, and drove home Sun eve. (Sister & brother-in-law liked me, obviously.) Then the parents figured out what was happening, so they sent her off to live with her brothers family...2000 miles away. mdrejhon 8 #21 January 14, 2011 You didn't define what "Some..." was. "Somebody?" or "Some event?" So I'll chime in. 900 miles -- roadtrip to Skydive Chicago all the way from Ottawa, Canada. It was a roundtrip too, so it was 1800 miles. 40-way camp I attended, to try to get my ambitions into a subsequent Chicago 100-way (didn't succeed on that, but my effort was recognized!). I eggshelled the gas, so got me 23mpg in an old Jeep I got for $1200
Steel 0 #22 January 14, 2011 295 miles. Well sort of... you be the judge About 14 years ago, I met a German girl in a Jersey mall. Turns out she was spending a week with a "foster American family in NH", something like that. After a conversation that lasted less than 30 minutes, we agreed to meet in a small local airport in Manchester, NH. I rented a 172 flew out there and spent the day and the night with her. I then flew back home in the morning. A couple of months later, concidently (really) I found myself living in the same city of Germany as she. We went out on one more date this time in Dresden and I never saw her again. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
