How many of you ladies have "rented" yourself?

Unless they are in a place that prostitution is legal.

Ya...all you need is a video camera and an assumed name...nothing sleazy about that!

I think a great place to have conducted this poll is the gate area of the late afternoon Friday flight from FLL-LAS. Every chick at the gate looked like a FLL stripper head to work in Las Vegas for the weekend.

From my previous post:
Any suggestions on whom I should spend my hard-earned dollars?

It took a long time for someone to help me out.

Thanks!
Now I know where to go!

Yes, men are that stupid. When it comes to sex, rational thought goes out the window. You are male, you should know this already. Of course you do...I've seen you in action and you're my hero!

You think a pimp uses "calling the cops" as a hold on the girls? Really?
My reality and yours are quite different.

If you're trying to find some logic in all this, then you have to realise that these feminists aren't trying to protect these poor suffering women. Its all about controlling male sexuality. Because if there is one thing these feminists hate, its healthy straight male libido.

Sounds like my X wife....lovely girl really did think she was swell but....the sex drive of a decomposing nun!
But I have to say in our 8 years together I never thought of "renting" anything from the outside. I figured I was paying for her eduation, keeping the house clean and cooking her dinner.....I should have been owed some EPIC porno quality sex.....turns out I wasn't.

Saw this....so what do you call this?

I just gotta say I feel so sorry for men around the holidays. Those stupid jewelry commercials are targeted towards them and they sure as hell can make sitting on the couch watching television pretty uncomfortable with all of the engagement ring ads they're forcing down your throat. I just hate that...

Hey we wouldn't buy if you girls didn't give the TV those freaking puppy dog eyes!

That's one thing I really liked about my x wife and fear I will never find again. She was smart enough to know that diamonds were nothing special and she preferred action more than gifts.

She was a really cool chick, maybe I'll find someone like her in the future.

But yes you are right, it's not easy being a dude. Sure we buy the crap they put on TV but....well you girls also buy into it as well.

I never, ever, ever made puppy dog eyes at the television for jewelry. I bet a lot of women here would say the same thing.

Trust me, the size of the diamond doesn't mean shit. I had a big solitaire engagement ring from my ex-husband and it didn't mean jack shit when it came down to if he loved me more because I got the big piece of chicken, so to speak. He still pissed all over our vows.

I feel sorry for the people who mine the diamonds and those who need a diamond to be happy.

A men! If you guys ever have the chance to visit a diamond factory check it out. If you saw how much came in and how few actually get used to make bligy stuff and how much get used to make tools...you will giggle your ass off!

And look, when we examine or discuss culture we are looking at "averages". If we based our conversations on outliers it would be impossible to discuss a culture.

So sadly yes on average, most women look at these commercials who fall for it. Thus why I said I was really lucky with my x wife and your boyfriend is very lucky with you.

You're just bound and determined to rack up brownie points with all the men on here, huh?:D:ph34r::D

I'm not trying for brownie points. That's the same wedding ring I picked back in the day. I could've had anything I wanted but that's exactly what I chose.

I agree with you on rings. Any woman who needs a ring that takes up the whole hand is a woman who is very shallow in my book. They just want attention and bragging rights.

The 'renting' discussion is skewed by society! There are two separate societal norms at work here- Social norms (consensual, non-paid-for sex) and Market norms (paid-for-sex). It's like asking a buddy to help you move your furniture, as opposed to offering $20 to do it. He/she is more likely to offer the 'favor' scenario (social norm) as opposed to the cash scenario (market norm).

This fact is where the problem in 'renting' happens- some women (and some men) associate receiving money for intimacy as degrading and inappropriate due to the social norms society has set up- religion labels it as deviant, law enforcement/government does the same, therefore, society as a whole does (surprise huh).

If one researched the cave-man era, one would realize that relationships- just like the rest of civilization- was primitive. Sex/intimacy began as a survival of the fittest quality to ensure our species procreated, but as we evolved as a species/society, sex became an object of pleasure. Have you ever thought about 'why' our bodies naturally feel good during the act?? We're groomed that way by nature; it ensures our desire to continue procreation.

All in all, I do not see why it is stigmatized by society- some people (whether women or men) enjoy said occupation: some are capitalists and have to do what they must (male homeless beg for money, whereas female homeless earn it), while others can have a graduate degree yet choose the opportunistic path of a 6 figure life.

Ladies (notice the word usage) continue life with/without 'renting' and forget what others say/think because they are not in your shoes.

I know...I'm just playing. You may not be trying for brownie points, but you are getting them. :)

I'm also not saying that back when I was young and stupid I didn't subscribe to the "big diamond" bullshit. All of my chicas had beautiful engagement rings. When the time came for me get engaged, apparently my aunt told my xH that I wanted a ring just like hers... a huge solitaire.

I may have won the heaviest left hand contest amongst my friends but I'm the only one in the group who is now divorced.

That started my "love doesn't equal pricey jewelry" attitude...

So I'm on this pilgrimage to find myself a new Yoga studio to call home. Nothing wrong with the one I've been going to for the past 4 years but there is just too many memories there of my X and well....since I was divorced via text message while sitting in the parking lot waiting for class to begin....I just think the place has bad juju.

Any how! Long story short so I'm looking for a new place to practice and thus far I have visited 2 different studios. And let me tell you the bling is in effect! Holy mother of god! The last place i went to, very well done, very interesting instructor and the view isn't nice....all women in their early to mid 30's all in great shape and all civilized. And my god....I think of of them has a rock as big as a babies head!

I mean talk about advertising your price! And of all things in a freaking Yoga class! WOW! Really!

9 months ago my current and former admins took me out to lunch and asked me I would ever get married again. Then I said yes sure why not.....today after all I have seen no way.....no way in hell! Not that I don't want to but odds of finding a girl who isn't that sure of her price....good luck!
Again I speak of averages not out lyres.

The female.. well most spend a stupid amount of money on Make up, the right out fit and the right shoes (Which I don't think most guys even know exist).

Guys, even if you buy a $200 dinner.. you can bet she spent close to the same amount so she could look her best,

But the same argument could equally be applied to real prostitutes. A prostitute--as in someone actually walking the street--probably also spent a lot of money on makeup, a sexy outfit, etc--so that she can attract customers. It is part of the cost of doing business for her. If she is good at what she does her revenue will exceed her expenses.

Now with regard to "dating" situations--I'm not saying that all women are "gold diggers" but just speaking about women who might be described as "gold diggers". For such a woman, the real financial reward isn't the free dinner during the date, but the much greater financial rewards that will come when the man is persuaded to "commit".

I agree with you that it is becoming less and less common for women to want financial support out of a dating relationship. But for those women who do--and they still exist even if rarer--the dynamic is not so different than with prostitution.
