dterrick 0 #7 May 15, 2003 Hey monkey! Eclipse will be in the early night here nad I have a nasty Celestron telescope that just happens to attach to the Canon AE-1 giving me 2,000 mm. of moon-catching lens. Forecast is supposed to be clear so I'll be 'shooting' - hope to capture some shorts worthy of posting. Dave PS: when the spot is right I also find it useful to spy on the jumpship (when I'm not in it of course) Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend (Lennon/McCartney)
falxori 0 #8 May 15, 2003 would be too close to sunrise here, so we'll only get the first part of it... anyway, they havent invented a moon that would make me wake up at 4 am... so,,, good night to all of you O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." david3 0 #12 December 20, 2010 Lunar eclipse tonight. http://www.citystatetimes.com/1888/lunar-eclipse-this-december-2010/ What are the chances of getting a decent photo with a simple point and shoot Nikon Coolpix S700? Any suggestions? Or am I just kidding myself? In any case it should be a good show?
JohnMitchell 16 #13 December 20, 2010 Use a tripod and the mechanical telephoto. I've got the same camera.
Southern_Man 0 #14 December 20, 2010 I've been getting up about 3 AM to feed the wood stove in the middle of the night anyway. I can see myself watching the Eclipse from the hot tub tonight."What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
david3 0 #15 December 20, 2010 Quote Use a tripod and the mechanical telephoto. I've got the same camera. Yes, I have the digital zoom disabled at all times. Nice little camera. I should really take the time to learn how it works (beyond the auto default settings).
SpeedRacer 1 #16 December 21, 2010 So this is the first time in three centuries that a lunar eclipse coincided with the solstice. Also they're saying the moon will turn blood red, a sure sign of the end of the world or some such shit. So where is the hysteria? Let's get going people. Post your predictions for the eclipse. I predict that Michael Jackson will rise from the dead. And that a giant radioactive duck will emerge from the ocean and eat Baltimore.
