Nataly 38 #1 December 23, 2010 Ahhh, the internet... I had no internet at home for several months in 2008 and again more recently for a couple of months. Getting connected again feels like I've found a long-lost friend!! I think outside of socialising with "real people" and doing sports, I spend all my free time on the computer. Hard to imagine my life without it! Anyone else out there who couldn't live computer-less/internet-less for any long length of time??"There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

Wings-n-Things 0 #6 December 23, 2010 When I burned out after the dot-com bubble burst in 2000, I threw out my computer and didn't have one for almost 3 years. Didn't miss it at all. Once I got one again and tried to make money webmastering, I found out I was obsolete and unemployable. Now I'm going back to school to get into the medical industry and could give a shite about web development. I just wanna surf the web... and skydive. I started off with basic (ya know, '10 print Hello' type shit) move to quickbasic, then html, javascript, borland C++, AutoIT (easiest one ever, btw) and been working with VB.net. Just sayin, not everyone can code, but once you can, you just have to knock off the dust and it'll come back."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

Most of the people I met there are very goal and career oriented, as were the IT geeks at Boeing on the 787 project I worked on for a couple years. I think most of the geeks and geekettes that get to the IT groups in Fortune 50 companies have their stuff VERY together, and avoid a CLM like that.
