So a new series kicked off on Starz a couple of weeks ago.
This was filmed here in Gods Country NZ.
Has anyone managed to catch an episode at all?

My little Boy Marlow is starring in episode 7 I do belive and has made history in the 1st season by being the only actor under 18. Hes 3 .

I've seen episodes 1-3 so far and I think they are pretty entertaining. The cinematography is a little bit like 300 and the blood/gore might be too much for some. Overall, it's not going to make your brain work but it is a good story from what I can tell so far. If they drag the story out to make more episodes, it could bog down and get old quick. Right now though, the pace is adequate.

Watched episodes 1 and 2 online... It looks good, but I second the bloodsplatters are a little over the top

I've seen eps 1 and 2 and I like it so far. But like everyone else, I think they go way over the top with some of their effects. I'd like to see them tone it down a little. It just looks cheesy to me.

I spent a rainy day watching all of Spartacus season 1 ON DEMAND recently, just as a review before the Prequel. Spartacus Gods of the Arena starts in Jan.

Waiting to see if there are more nekkid gladiators scenes like the one with Lucretia and her "friend" Ilithyia Glabus sizing up the new talent

I think they tried too hard to outdo "300" and "Rome", and deliberately making it even grosser than both combined, which I suppose was the point.

Anyway, the only reason I watched it was so I could get a glimpse of Lucy Lawless' naughty bits
