In case anyone doesn't remember or know, when Norma Jean (aka Marilyn Monroe) Baker sang,"Happy Birthday Mr. President.." the dress she was wearing was a "Size 14!!!" It got auctioned off by some high test auction house for some 6figures + as I recall. I remembered this post when I was surfing thru the channels last night and up pops her film with Yves Montand "Lets Make Love". It was rather amazing to see a Hollywood actress that actually had a voluptous female body that was the norm at that time. Nowadays she would not even be considered for the parts she made famous. WAY too many curves on that woman

wmw999 2,452 #55 December 16, 2010 I'm more filled out than a size 6 too, by a long shot. Slim-fit jeans would need to be a 14. Not that I'd wear them, because I'm not shaped like that. Personally I think this thread is as close to directly offensive to dz.commers as we get. It's one thing to say that one prefers slim women -- that's personal taste. But the "don't even go out" comment is just plain rude. There are lots of pictures of dz.com guys posted who clearly are carrying a little extra poundage, and no one complains about them. But wanting to make a point is a damn poor reason to hide facts, and the MM one is verifiable. Anyway, she'd still be big by today's standards -- an 8 or 10 is bigger than is acceptable for either a model or most movie actresses. Depending on how tall you are, a size 14 could be very, very reasonable. Someone who's 5'10" with biggish bones could easily be in a 14 without looking the least big overweight. shah269 0 #56 December 16, 2010 Quote I agree. At that height he should be under 170, IMO. Actualy I'm 190 when I was wearing all the equipment. As of my last visit to the doctor I was at about 175. But that's just from me not feeling very good over the past few month and loosing way too much weight due to not going to the gym nor eating. She Marlin was a size 8? That's about right. I think that's about a good size to be to have a long and healthy life. And she was gorgeous. But then again, look where we live? How many hours per day do we sit in the office just feeling our asses get fatter and our bones get thinner? And then you get out of work at 6 and just want to eat dinner and die! So any woman or man who can go from work to the gym or to some sort of class for two hours per week, my hats off to them! I can but that's because I don't have kids so its easy for me. But for others who have kids and families, more power to you! May you have a long and healthy life!Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. They grow them big in the hart land don't they! OK that was bad even for me! But in all seriousness, it's not only unhealthy but it's expensive! I had a chance to speak with one of the insurance reps the other day regarding the issue and she indicated that their projections were such that over the next 10-20 years either the insurance companies will have to be allowed to exempt people of a given BMI or prices will have to greatly increase the costs to everyone by 50% to cover the resulting increase in medical costs. And I was just going to bitch about an icrease of $100 a year! Furthermore she was indicating that under the new laws, in theory.....not being in shape may or may not qualify as a pre existing condition nor qualify as discrimination. I couldn't believe it! But looking at the numbers, what is a company to do? Maybe things will change? Who knows? But we as a nation can't keep going down this road. Not only is it bad for a single guy trying to date but.....it's just not healthy for our wallets or our hearts! And yes, the woman in the first post is the "Average" for our nation. Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. The only thing that falls from the sky is birdshit and fools! Yuppers.. and when you are 6'2" I think I fit in a size 14 for about 15 minutes once.... while I was 13 and growing over 6" in one year. I don't even want to go NEAR the so called "tall sizes" that are built for a tall girl of 5'8" to 5'10", sorry but peddle pusher styles come and go but when everything looks like that its just annoying. wmw999 2,452 #63 December 16, 2010 Sorry, Shah is getting a bad rap here. He posts about personal taste, not the "no one should" stuff as a rule. I thought the first couple of posts were worse. If nothing else, that woman isn't dressed at all inapropriately. Either that, or just BS, but that's different Wendy P. warpedskydiver 0 #65 December 16, 2010 The thing is that you have to recognize that a woman who weighs a certain amount, even at a certain height, just might have more muscle mass than you would imagine. I know of several women who are in or above the 6' range and they weight close to 200lbs. Well one of them is lighter around 180. These women all have one thing in common, they can lift an incredible amount of weight, one if just a farm chick. Another is a biker, who works as a mechanic. Another one was an athlete before she became involved in severe drug and alcohol abuse. You would not imagine that they weigh as much as they do. My daughter is very shapely (Don't worry I have lots of ammo and a garden hose) she is just 15, she is 5'5" weighs around 150lbs, she has a tiny waist and can bench 200lbs in sets. She also runs for an hour a day.

warpedskydiver 0 #68 December 16, 2010 Sorry, it just bothers me a bit to hear guys dissing women for not being 5' and 98lbs. I mean, WTF that would be like fucking a midget. Someone I used to be friends with was all upset because his son was so small, his wife is 5' tall, the father is 5'6" I guess he thought his steroid use was going to help in making is kids as large as he thought he was in his mind. shah269 0 #72 December 16, 2010 Quote Someone I used to be friends with was all upset because his son was so small, his wife is 5' tall, the father is 5'6" ... It's one of those strange things and a well known fact. A guy can make great money, be perfectly stable and be on his way to a great life. But due to his size finding a life partner may be an issue. It's funny when I first became single I tried one of those dating sights, and I had a bit of fun to see what the world was like. I "adjusted" my pay into the $200k's and got a few emails. But then I brought my pay significantly lower than what I make but increased my height to 6ft+......a flood of email! We can argue that a woman can "get in shape" and do well on the market. But what is your friends kid going to do?Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. wmw999 2,452 #73 December 16, 2010 I know happily and unhappily married short men. But if guys have a right to like women to be 5'6", it's no more shallow for a girl to like men to be 6'. shah269 0 #74 December 16, 2010 Thank you Wendy The sad fact is that we are all shallow in a way. And in this information age we are even more so. It's now a global market place when it comes to looks. It's gotten to the point where no one is ever perfect enough. I wouldn't say the woman pictured on the first page should never go out. I would suggest she should go and visit her doctor and have them describe what kind of trouble she is in Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay.
