warpedskydiver 0 #27 December 9, 2010 I purchased tickets for the Womens Tactical Association fundraiser, I made damned sure they knew if they pulled my tickets that they went back into the bowl. Besides, I already have enough crap. I also donated some of my products. One chick was floored that she won the Sabre Defense rifle, I guess she has kids, is divorced and could not afford her own rifle. That was nice seeing good done. Of course there were a few drunk hotties wanting to go out to the parking lot to learn how to do proper push ups in a mini van or the Lenco. Damn, why do I go to places where I have to behave? CSpenceFLY 1 #28 December 9, 2010 I do have a question though. How did the number of tickets you bought become such common knowledge that it became an issue. If it was because of you talking you're not an asshole you're a dumb ass. If it's someone from the group you bought from someone needs to talk to them about shutting the fuck up. LouDiamond 1 #29 December 9, 2010 Quote You ALMOST have a point. Where your "Band Of Brothers" quote fails is in the fact that I'm not "taking" anything from anyone. Anyone from the grades of E-1 to O-6 can buy tickets for the drawing... to the tune of whatever their bank acct can afford. I came to a conclusion. This event wasn't well advertised, and I decided to capitalize on it. The way I'm looking at it, I'm providing the booster club with a shitload of money that they would not normally have recieved for this event. So while I've justified it in my mind, I'm still an asshole just because I'm a Muff Brother as some other old dude pointed out. Well it sounds like you have rationalized it to yourself and overcome the moral dilemma that you said you were having with the Airmen below you who don't have your means. What would you do without Dropzone.com to act as your sounding board for your moral dilemmas? JohnMitchell 16 #32 December 9, 2010 Maybe spend some time promoting the raffle to others, so your chances drop and the charity gets more dough. Raffles, as much as I love them, aren't about winning prizes, although I do like it. It's about giving to a cause you care about, with a chance of getting something in return. I can't enter the Leap for Lupus raffle, even though I'd love to, and I didn't win the Airspeed raffle. And no, we know you, and we don't think you're an asshole. Nataly 38 #38 December 9, 2010 I think if someone has already pointed out to you that they thought you were buying too many tickets, you have already come across as an asshole. I can think of a great many examples (most of which you would likely agree with) where people were being complete douchebags while breaking no rules at all. We are talking about a fucking raffle here. If I do a raffle at a boogie the intent is to make money for a charity and get cool stuff to someone that can use it. It looks like both are being done here.If the people doing the raffle cared or wanted it to be fair they would sell only one ticket to everyone. Lets not make this more then it is.By the logic of some here if you ever bought more then one ticket for a raffle you are cheating, that's fucking stupid.
