Had to put my best friend of 15 years to sleep today. Despite having worked at an animal hospital for a year and put dozens of animals to sleep, it doesn't make it any easier especially when it's your own. But it was the best thing for her. She's no longer suffering and she's now playing with her big sister who we lost 10 years ago.

Sorry for your loss. I have been there a couple times and it's never easy but at least I got to be with them when it had to happen like you were. It makes it less of a stressful situation for them when you are there with them. They're always a part of your heart.
