Given that, it would have been nice if they could have also cloned the level of production. The instability of their in-car video made it look like a bad YouTude segment. GO-PRO FTW! Oh, wait. They are still low [On] air time .. so can't use cameras yet (.)Y(.) They are still low [On] air time .. so can't use cameras yet I broke-down and watched it. I didn't want to, having been spoiled by the high quality and the presenters from England. The American version is too laid back. No humor, no excitement and no enthusiasm. The three guys on the American version sound like they are having trouble reading poorly written cue-cards. I've seen Rutledge enough on NASCAR to know that like his two cohorts, is about as exciting as a fence-post. If, they could've gotten the Waltrip bros. and Dave Despain, it might work. All in all, the American 'Top Gear', got stripped before it even aired. I'll stick to the 'real' 'Top Gear'. Chuck
AStack75 4 #28 November 25, 2010 QuoteThere will be an episode airing featuring skydiving in the near future. It a high altitude jump vs the Ford Raptor pick up truck racing across the desert. I was slated to do the jump in full military gear but last minute filming changes conflicted with my schedule. You'll now see Jeffro doing a bit of head down FFing and some nice canopy swooping at the end/finish line. I've only seen the raw footage so I have no idea how the actual episode will look. There was a column about that jump in the Dec. 2010 issue of Maxim. I was told that it would be shown on the 4th episode (Dec. 12th?) of the show. Not sure where my source got that from so it may or may not be true.
Ron 10 #29 November 25, 2010 QuoteYeah, we are going to have to agree to disagree. Had I never seen the UK version, then maybe I could have called this decent. However, all of a sudden expecting loyal fans of the original Top Gear to accept this pitiful bastardization is laughable. I realize that it was only the first show, but everything felt forced, scripted, and precisely zero chemistry between anyone. +2 It is like Starwars episode I.... It was so bad it actually hurt the original a bit. The show sucked.
