Trip to Dallas

Gonna be in town this Fri-Mon. Going to the Dallas game as a birthday present. I haven;t planned any of this trip, since it was done as a surprise gift.

What do I have to go do from a locals perspective for the other 2.5 days that I am there, and not out at Cowboys stadium?

Fort Worth Zoo. Also, if you enjoy the theater there are a number of shows this weekend. Billy Bobs Texas. Six Flags. There are a number of great restaurants. If you let me know what type of food you like, I will suggest some.

Honestly, Dallas is a great place to live because there is always something going on but I do not know of any huge tourist attractions.

Or he could drive for 3 hours south east and make some of the last jumps that Aggeland is offereing.

No rig coming with me on this trip unfortunately.
As far as food. High end seafood and steak. Might check out Craft if I can get reservations this short notice. Otherwise local favorites are always appreciated.

Good dive bars not unreasonable.

If you are looking for good high end food - and GREAT atmosphere, try Cool River . . . not far from the stadium , and the service and the wine selection is awesome. They have a cigar room. Nothing quite like a brandy or rich port and an R&J after a good meal.

Oh and they have really nice pool tables as well. Good felt, red dots, and a very attendant wait staff.

The Cowboys stadium is now in Arlington and isn't close to Cool River. You're thinking of Texas stadium that was demolished.

It's not TOO Far . . 30 minute drive - that is pretty close - considering.

and - well - Cowgirl Stadium was demolished - that is where the Irving Cowgirls played.

The stockyards are very interesting. You could go to the Rodeo, Billy Bobs is a must and finally for good steak "Cattlemans". All of this is in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
