Genius. other good horror flicks hmmmm.... the grudge freaked me out a little noice piece of work there. I forgot that one. Love the ending. and definitely house of 1000 corpses - talk about disturbing.... haven't seen devils rejects yet but i'm assuming it's similar house was a good one until it just got completely bizzare at the end. Solid horror non-the-less. Devils rejects is completely different, same actors, etc, different story. halloween 2 - cause my godfather plays "buddy" hellraiser nightmare on elm st (the first one) Oh, and I remember monkey shines got me the first time I saw it.Goddam dirty hippies piss me off! ~GFD "What do I get for closing your rig?" ~ me "Anything you want." ~ female skydiver Mohoso Rodriguez #

wildblue 7 #12 October 19, 2006 QuoteHalloween Smartass. QuoteOne of the best horror style flicks i've seen in a while. A bit more trashy is The Hills Have Eyes. You were high when you watched it, right? Army of Darkness is one of the greatest movies ever... Was The Grudge one of the ones they made fun of in the last Scary Movie? I think that and House of 1000 Corpses are about the only 2 mentioned so far that I haven't seen. EDIT: I wrote this before fireflytx wrote her massive list .Aside from Peej, I'd say you people have decent taste in horror flicks it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
rehmwa 2 #13 October 19, 2006 QuoteArmy of Darkness is one of the greatest movies ever... Evil Dead 1/2 and Army of Darkness are GREAT comedies. And I agree AoD is one the best out there for entertainment I'd hardly call either of them "horror" films. (acknowledge neither did wildblue, whom I'm quoting) I like "horror" movies that tug at you rather than scare. Dark Water, though overall a pretty lame movie, has some parts in it that really hit home (for example) Actually I just wanted to agree on the army of darness thing. "You said you loved me" "that was just pillow talk, Baby" "Baby, you got real ugly" "shop smart, shop S-Mart" Edited because I can't my quotes right. Will have to visit wavsite.com again ... McDuck 0 #16 October 19, 2006 Event Horizon was a bit spooky. Evil Dead stopped being the least bit spooky for me when the girl got molested by the tree early on. Plus, I'd read the production journal of one of the crew and I was too fascinated with what I knew was going on to make that movie happen.Kevin - Sonic Beef #5 - OrFun #28 "I never take myself too seriously, 'cuz everybody know fat birds don't fly." - FLC Online communities: proof that people never mature much past high school. masterblaster72 0 #17 October 19, 2006 Quote Dude, Silent Hill, it's frikken AWESOME! One of the best horror style flicks i've seen in a while. A bit more trashy is The Hills Have Eyes. Sarcasm/practical joke? I was angry at myself after it was done for sitting through that movie, IMO truly one of the worst and unentertaining films I've ever seen. If you're serious, I'm curious to know what quality you found in that movie if you don't mind sharing. masterblaster72 0 #18 October 19, 2006 Quote Prom Night Surprised to see that on a list here, what a classic -- I used to catch re-runs of that flick annually on WPHL-17 in Philly. That scene of the head rolling down the prom floor is truly unforgettable. To the original poster: A few recommendations -- Audition (Japanese with subtitles), truly a freak show, best watched on an empty stomach! Ringu (Japanese with subtitles, original version of The Ring, much better than its American remake) and Frogs, 70's invasive critter horror at its best (or worst, depending on how you look at it) Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up. ntacfreefly 0 #19 October 19, 2006 I remember catching bits and pieces of Ginger Snaps and it looked like it had potential. Otherwise most of the suggestions here are pretty solid, with Event Horizon (IMO) just being downright disturbing with the suggestive images.
