billvon 3,068 #1 September 24, 2010 My company just had its 25th anniversary party, and for the party they got Dave Matthews to play for a few hours. Great concert. Also a nice guy - talked to him a bit backstage before the show started. He was convinced that the only reason we called him is that we couldn't get Lady Gaga. The venue was interesting too. We just bought another piece of property, a former RC Cola facility. We knocked down one building onsite and converted the other one into a nightclubby thing. Then everything got asphalted for the (outdoor) concert. That last building will get knocked down pretty soon to make way for a highrise, but at least it went out with a bang. CarrieByTheSea 0 #4 September 24, 2010 I really like Dave Matthews and the DMB. What a fun company party! I actually am friends with one of the DMB's #1 fans of a DMB club; he gets priority seats and tickets for all of the shows and goes to quite a few of them and never misses Bonnaroo. We are invited all the time--probably should take him up on that finally. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
skydiver30960 0 #5 September 24, 2010 A nurse I used to work with is a RAVING DMB fan. She got front-row tickets once and it was funny listening to a fifty-something raving about how wonderful it was to spend the whole concert getting hit by beads of sweat from the band. And she wasn't kidding. Elvisio "nice lady, though" Rodriguez

cloudseeker2001 0 #7 September 24, 2010 Off the chain! Was it the entire band of just Dave? I have heard that Dave is a really nice guy as well. No other band is making music this smart. If you get a chance, check out Live at Radio City or Las Vegas.....It's Dave and another guitar player named Tim Reynolds. Great music. Rookie120 0 #8 September 25, 2010 Damn! I love his music! I never get to go to his shows though. I always seem to be 2 steps behind the curve on tickets. My wife and her best friend though have seen him 18 times. Maybe someday. I still say Carter Beauford (Daves drummer) is one of the best in the music industry. Simply amazing. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Southern_Man 0 #14 September 26, 2010 Saw DMB lots and lots of times, way before anybody knew who they were. They played Trax in Charlottesville every Tuesday (I think, maybe Thursday) night. Once saw them perform at the UVa ampitheatre in front of less than 100 people. Also saw Boyd Tinsley (the fiddle player) play lots of venues with the Boyd Tinsley Band or Down Boy Down before he got together with Dave. Boyd was a very nice guy. He was a Sigma Nu and his band played the Sigma Nu basement a ton. I have shared a beer or two with Dave many, many years ago. He was okay."What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
