so i was just talking to a coworker and he's asking me what I was doing this weekend, asked if i was jumping. i said yea if the weather is alright, definitely. then i of course asked him what he was doing, to which he replied, "the usualy, family stuff. bbq."

then it hit me, my family hasn't invited me to a family event in ages. and my friends are doing to less and less.

then i shrugged and sat back in my cube to troll dz.com

When's the last time you invited them to do something (other than "hey you should try skydiving!!?") When's the last time you accepted an invitation even though it was on a day you could have been skydiving?

You may be okay with devoting yourself 100% to skydiving ... but don't blame them if they devote themselves 100% to doing other things and they're not as eager to hang with you when the weather sucks or you have a sprained ankle (or worse) or don't have enough money for a jump.

I like balance. I like that I still have important people in my life who don't skydive. I like that I still like to do things other than skydiving from time to time. Among other things, it helps to keep dropzone drama in its proper perspective.

lol a friend texted me during lunch and asked if i wanted to come over saturday for a bbq, i said sure if its raining.

edit: i had them over 2 fridays ago for a BBQ! :) i cooked up a big ass meal and we talked about all the things we used to do. then we smacked each other's asses a few times and they forgave my long absence.....sort of
