When a married person has an affair with a single person

One is cheating and the other is a low life for being involved with someone in a commited relationship IMHO.

+1 unless it's an open relationship.

Many times married people of both genders don't reveal that they are married, so how could the single person be at fault in that situation?

Also, it was the married person who took a vow, not the single person.

What if single person doesn't know the other is married?

If they do know but don't know the spouse?

If they do know and are friends with the spouse?

I've seen all flavors of this.

All good points. Have to judge on a case by case basis...

Or in relationships.

Unless the single person has asked and been lied to about the other's status and has no reason to doubt them, they're at fault too.

If the the single person would have no issue with a SO or spouse of theirs having an affair without their knowledge, than they should feel free to as well. If not, then respect the relationships of others.

If you know your fucking a married person then yes you’re an ass hole as well. If you were lied too and had no clue then its just the married persons fault. Unless they have really bad amnesia

None of it is right... and I have seen all of the above also.

I have two basic rules on this... I don't mess around with another womans man. Nor would I ever mess around when I have my own man.

So you have to be single to be fair game. Pretty simple isn't it?!

I'm giving a serious response despite the light-hearted nature of this thread...

For me it's simple: I don't like to share. If I'm going to invest my emotions into someone, I want the same level of commitment from the other person - I don't think that kind of emotional commitment/respect is possible when there are 3 people (or more!) in a relationship...

I imagine it's possible for some people to be happy in mutually agreed-upon open relationships... But that is NOT the same as lying to/cheating on your partner...

ETA - If you're knowingly in a relationship with someone who is married / seeing someone else, you either don't respect yourself or you are an arsehole. IMO. FWIW.

Well, it must be possible, but in my experience someone always ends up feeling left-out! :P

It takes true talent to insure no one is "left out":):)

If you and your buddy go to kill Ed and your buddy kills Ed, guess what we charge you with? Murder.

If you know the other person made a vow and you help them break it, you are an adulterer. It took both of you to break the vow. This poll reminds me of Clinton's claim that Monica had sex, but he didn't. Really?
I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..

But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
