Also consider La Brea Tar Pits. They are digging up dinosaur fossils and saber tooth tigers and stuff right there in the middle of the city! If you're on the Westside, I would be more comfortable recommending that you spend an evening at the Victorian Jazz Club ("The Vic") in Santa Monica instead of the Catalina Bar and Grill in Hollywood of the Blue Cafe in Long Beach. Or, if you are in Pasadena, It's easier to swing by the Norton Simon Museum than the Getty. In fact there's a jazz festival in Pasadena this weekend. DFWAJG 4 #38 August 26, 2010 Also consider The Pageant of the Masters in Laguna. The last day is the 31st. Jerry and I will be there for the Gala event. The show is incredible. It is a living art show where actors are dressed as people in paintings or sculptures, then are placed within props on stage. The lights go out, and voila, a replica of a master's painting appears.
