piercewhat 0 #1 April 14, 2005 I found a sponsor that will pay for the canopy and their design on it. I have to pay for the container. I wanted to know where I could go to get both the canopy and rig and send the canopy off for the design work? I am a newbie so I don't know what would be good to start off with I figure in the 210 range for the primary chute. I have looked around and I know that there are a lot of options but if I could get pointed in the right direction. Or what manufacturer would take care of both. Thanks in advance for your help. tso-d_chris 0 #2 April 14, 2005 I think you will have the best luck having the design put on the canopy as it is being built, rather than having a design placed on an existing canopy. For Great Deals on Gear
Treejumps 0 #3 April 14, 2005 To start with, and canopy with a logo generally must be manufactured new. Logos are typically applied during the building process. there are ways to apply a logo to an existing canopy but they are not going to look as good and will not last very long. Expect to pay as much for a logo as you do for the canopy, maybe more for a detalied logo. As with canopies, rigs usually must be built from the ground up to have special logos and colors. very little can be applied (effectively) after a rig is built. Your best bet for canopies with logos is PD. Any rig manufacturer can build a custom rig with umpteen embroideries. Good luck.
SkymonkeyONE 4 #4 April 14, 2005 When I was doing my PD rep training three years ago, there was one lady that was in charge of cutting ALL of the custom logoed canopies they built. Like both the other posters said, the graphics are cut and sewn on as the canopy is being built. At PD, the graphics seem to be solid, but they are actually cut so that they lay over the piece they are to be applied to, excess seam overlap included. It's really labor intensive, but absolutely the the most bullet-proof way to do it. Chuck
DShiznit 0 #5 April 14, 2005 What about the way that ATAIR installs the diamonds? It's not an overlay, but the actual canopy thus not yielding a double layer = larger pack volume.
EAerodyne 0 #6 April 14, 2005 Aerodyne offers both rigs and canopies and we do custom embroidery on the rigs, as well as custom artwork on our canopies. Allowing you to deal with a single company for your entire system. Our appliqué method is the same as PD's and in most instances we offer extremely competitive prices on the artwork. We would need a high resolution jpeg, or eps file to give you a quote on the artwork. As unbiased advice I would suggest you send the artwork to the different manufacturers and get it quoted on. This would give you the chance to make a more informed choice. Kind regards
Gafneyjr 0 #7 April 14, 2005 If you look at the workmanship of PD's artwork, you will not look at another manufacturer. I have seen the RedBull logo's, the PD logos, and many more and they hold up as long as the canopies do - which is the life of the canopy.

It does increase the pack volume as ther is an additional set of seams. That and the material packs larger....---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
