All fixed, try the new one

Cool, thanks... Funny, yes, since it wasn't me in there. If it was me in there, he's getting a knuckle sandwich in the mouth once we got back on the ground. :P

In tandem seat aircraft the pilot in command or instructor generally takes the rear seat, not the front one.

Who said there was instruction going on? The guys I know, with only a few exceptions, PIC from the front since that's where the pilot stuff is and you can see a lot better.

I suspect phony.

Here I thought you were always only wrong about politics!

Pilot in rear seat and student or passenger in front is customary in:

Tiger Moth
Stearman
Chipmunk
Piper Cub
Pitts S2 series
Christen Eagle
Schweizer 2-33
Citabria
Decathlon
Taylorcraft
...

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

Piper Cub, yes, Citabria, I don't think so. I've jumped from tandem aircraft from the rear. I think it was a Citabria.

The joke was kinda funny. :)

I think aft-CG issues preclude flying any small tandem a/c from the rear when solo.
When I was flying the Blanik L-13, the instructor always took the rear seat, but we never flew them solo from the rear.
When I jumped from a Super Cub, it was from the rear.

?? If you put someone directly under the center of lift of the aircraft (i.e. near the front of the wing) then CG is minimally affected - thus adding/removing the front passenger affects CG the least.

J-3 cubs that have the standard firewall fuel tank have to be flown solo from the rear seat. (Alternatively, enough baggage can be placed in the back to provide the needed weight.) Later variants, the PA-11 and the PA-18, carry their fuel in wing tanks. This moves the empty CG far enough rearward that it can be flown solo from the front seat.

The video wasn't a solo, though.
