DeNReN 0 #1 May 7, 2010 So my brand of beer is on sale for 4 days...it never goes on sale and is one of the most expensive local brands. It is $4 off the price of a 24 I will have to buy 10.5 24's to get a free 24 11 24's will cost me almost $425 advise?
LongWayToFall 0 #2 May 7, 2010 How much do you consume over a time period? Depending on the style of beer, it might only stay good for 6-8 months. What is the price on a keg? You should just get it on tap.....

billvon 3,064 #9 May 7, 2010 >so now I buy regular bud, 18 packs for 11.99 I made a SMaSH beer a while back (single malt, single hop) with the cheapest domestic grains/hops I could; it came out tasting like Miller but a little better. (My wife hates Miller but said this was drinkable.) It cost around $4 per 18 12-oz beers, assuming reuse of bottles, yeast etc.

billvon 3,064 #12 May 7, 2010 >>I drink 18 a day on average days.... >Lightweight. Well, if you're drinking 3+% beer (like Bud Light) it's hard to drink fast enough to get really drunk. That's only 6 ounces of alcohol over many hours. Now compare that to a 22oz bottle of Mephistopholes (16%) which is 4 ounces of alcohol all at once. jtnesbitt 0 #13 May 7, 2010 Dude, you're looking at it all wrong. There is no incentive for purchasing X quantity to get Y discount. I understand your logic about getting the free case but you're still using the same $4 off discount, Just buy a few cases and you're still saving the same amount of money. True, you wont be savings quite as much over time as you will eventually run out of the cheaper inventory, but you're still saving the same amount regardless of the quantity purchased."If this post needs to be moderated I would prefer it to be completly removed and not edited and butchered into a disney movie" - DorkZone Hero

billvon 3,064 #18 May 7, 2010 >Who wants to get drunk? That's what I'm sayin'. In homebrew circles the low-alcohol beers are called "session beers." As the name implies, they let you drink a bunch of beers in a session without getting drunk. Hard to do that with Mephistopholes.
jtnesbitt 0 #19 May 7, 2010 Actually Bill it's Mephistopheles Haha, sorry, couldnt help myself. I think this is the only time i have attempted to correct you where the post didnt warrant being deleted I'm not a huge stout fan but the reviews of that one are intriguing to say the least. I'll have to try it next time i am in Colorado. As far as beers with high alcohol contents, my favs tend to be right around 7-8% with IPAs and some heavy ales. Of course you can never go wrong with the Belgian Triple's either and they tend to be 10 and 11%. Damn, all this talk is making me want a beer!
