I met a guy that was stationed there and he said he would rather have been stabbed in the eye.U only make 2 jumps: the first one for some weird reason and the last one that you lived through. SSHusky 0 #20 May 1, 2010 What is most frustrating is that we are forced to move here. I had to quit my job of which I was successful at. Now I am here, no job, no affordable housing. My time is spent looking for housing that can hold us over until we get military housing. Until this 3-6month waitlist is over we are forced to live out of boxes, which means I can't pursue most of my hobbies bc they are in storage. I have cried for 3 days straight, and I would do just about anything to move. There aren't likely any jobs in my field so although I worked really hard in school and my industry, I will be working at McDonalds to pay for the storage/overpriced dump we will live in. The FAA airport identifier for the base is "NID", which we say stands for "Navy-In-the-Desert." I always wondered how they got the boats out there too.
