Shotgun 1 #28 April 6, 2010 Quote Wife and I watched the goat movie on an airplane last week, I said Lebowski's in the Army?!...Woosh! The Big Lebowski is one of my favorite films, so it's hard to not see Bridges as The Dude. Although his character in this movie was sort of similar anyway. I was just looking at the imdb site for The Men Who Stare at Goats, and I'm surprised that the memorable quotes section doesn't include the "we drove into a rock" line. When I use to work midnights I'd never miss his show! I used to listen every night coming back to Dago from Perris, almost made me wish the trip was longer, He was the master of listening to people, no matter how far out they may sound! I would like to see him in a different role--i.e. one where the viewer will be disgusted/upset by him--almost as much as I would love to see Jenn Aniston play a badass bitch. I am tired of the charm-boring roles. Yawn.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

PLFXpert 0 #41 April 6, 2010 Yes, I have seen it and rated it better than I did this film. I am even less a fan of Pitt, however. I like Damon, though. What I mean is--w/r/t a future Clooney role I would like to see--I think Clooney is capable of playing a main character that is dark, distrubing with a sick habit or desire. Not a two-dollar horror film, but a good thriller.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Not a two-dollar horror film, but a good thriller. Yeah, he does play a similar role in most of the movies I've seen him in. My favorite role of his was as Seth in "From Dusk Till Dawn," which was a sort of dark character, but in his typical charming style. And that movie is definitely closer to a two-dollar horror film than a "good thriller," but it's one of my favorite comedies of all time.
PLFXpert 0 #46 April 6, 2010 Quotewhich was a sort of dark character, but in his typical charming style. Not dark at all, but exactly what I mean. It is like he is afraid to be ugly and unacceptable. I have received countless blonde-Hollywood-you-look-likes, but I love when I get the Charlize Theron one because she totally went there in Monster. Of course--she was still a bit likeable as a vigilante. But, you get the idea. Clooney needs to get ugly and get brutal. That is my peace.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. JohnMitchell 16 #47 April 6, 2010 I like the work he does, and I think he does it well. He's played a variety of roles, does drama and comedy quite well, is not afraid to make fun of himself. I don't care if he never does some dark dramatic role, searching for validation as a 'true actor" (Think Tom Cruise). Clooney is entertaining on screen, cool to hang out with (I hear). We're certainly not sick of him in our house.Hey, did I tell you you look like Charlize Theron?

PLFXpert 0 #50 April 6, 2010 Quote Hey, did I tell you you look like Charlize Theron? Damn you! I was about to edit that out. I get a lot of you-look-likes and she is one of those mentioned more than once and one of the few I do not mind--except I realize how the comparison comes across to actually repeat. Oops. No, I was NOT thinking of Tom Cruise, nor do I agree Clooney has played a variety of roles. Characters, yes. Roles, no. His role is to be ultimately charming. I am so uncharmed. And so over talking about it further. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
