Gawain 0 #1 March 31, 2010 http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/movie-talk-uma-thurmans-double-whammy-weekend.html ...and it's Uma Thurman... QuoteFirst, the 39-year-old actress's latest movie, "Motherhood" made the news for its utterly dismal UK opening weekend, where it's estimated only 12 people actually paid for a ticket to the comedy. Good grief! That's not a flop...that's not a bomb...that's a black-hole of nothing! So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! JohnMitchell 16 #2 March 31, 2010 Well, I watched the trailer. Definitely not a guy flick. So chick flick, right? Well, it looks like she married to a schlub, so is she supposed to have an affair? That's not a feel good comedy. A lot of the comedy seem premised on incompetent and/or neurotic moms. Most of the moms I know are neither. Maybe Middle America would have related better if the movie had been set in the burbs. I didn't mind Uma's red head look. I just thought the jokes fell flat. Still, only 12 tickets sold? Damn. Was it in more than one theater?

MikeJD 0 #6 March 31, 2010 I actually find that hard to believe. Even if you just allow for people turning up at the cinema with no fixed idea about what they want to watch, surely more than 12 people across the UK would have plumped for that. Surely. It's probably a box office blockbuster, given the price for a cinema ticket in the UK, the prices there are friggin horrendous You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! jakee 1,564 #8 April 1, 2010 Quote To break down the math even further: of the 12 people who attended the film on its first weekend in theaters, 11 went on Saturday and just one bought a ticket on Sunday. Ouch. If theres anything worse than going to the cinema alone, it must be going to the cinema all aloneDo you want to have an ideagasm?

JohnMitchell 16 #10 April 1, 2010 Vskydiver and I caught the 9:50 showing of "She's Out of Your League" last night at the mall theater. We were the only two in there. Perfect.Movie wasn't bad, light romantic comedy with some pretty funny characters, quite a few laughs, and not too much "gross out" humor.
BillyVance 34 #11 April 2, 2010 I don't remember what movie it was that my wife and I went to one time, but it was an "open-captioned" showing, and we ended up being the only ones in there. About half an hour into the movie when we were sure nobody else were coming in, we moved to an upper corner and well... got frisky. NewGuy 0 #12 April 3, 2010 I'm surprised it got that much response. My wife rented the video - no clue why - I got through 10 mins of that total waste of time crap. Any longer and I'd have to kill myself.
futuredivot 0 #13 April 3, 2010 Quote I'm sold Quote So that's 13 tickets. But since that one is a half price senior ticket-doesn't really help the box office totalYou are only as strong as the prey you devour
