faulknerwn 38 #2 May 13, 2005 If I remember correctly that was FCI's post-Nova canopy. Never heard anything bad about them, but they're certainly a 10 year old design... W

masterrigger1 2 #4 May 14, 2005 Nope- the Arial is a Sabre I type canopy. It came out before the Nova. The Esprit was after the Nova. The Arial is a better opening canopy than the Sabre I and has the same basic flight characteristics. Ron 10 #5 May 16, 2005 Aerial was a canopy made by Glide Path about 12(?) years ago. They stopped production when the company went tits up and reopened as Flight Concepts. It was an OK canopy, some people complained that it did not have a ton of flair....But then again this was several years ago and any new canopy will be tons better."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers,
gjhdiver 0 #6 May 17, 2005 QuoteHas anybody ever heard of the Aerial canopy?? Are they any good? There were a few of them around at Z Hills during my time there as the manager. They were the forerunner of the Nova, and from all accounts, opened hard and didn't have a whole lot of landing flare. They were never very popular and were replaced in Glide Path's product line with the Nova. Any canopy that gets replaced by a Nova is probably not worth seeking out and jumpipng IMHO. riggerrob 643 #7 May 17, 2005 The Arial is a better opening canopy than the Sabre I and has the same basic flight characteristics. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I keep an Ariel 150 in my backup rig. I got it for cheap because the original owner could never figure out how to slow down the openings. It has only spanked me twice and both times I will admit to packing it sloppily. My Ariel flies slightly better than most of the Sabre Marks that I have owned: 170, 150 and 135. Riggerrob
