What to buy?

Recommended Posts

This has been covered a few times...basically this is NOT a question to be asking via the internet in specific terms. Beyond the fact that you should keep your first canopy at a 1:1 wingloading or less, what canopy to buy should be a discussion between you, your instructors and your S&TA.

May be it is reasonable to make somewhere here a sticky thread like "choosing a first canopy" or "first canopy - what to buy" or some... with general advises about discussing with instructor, WL etc...?
Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

Yep it's a very good article, but IMO thread should be more simple like:

1. Discuss this (and all advises given here) with your instructor and S&TA.
2. some imputs about WL (or link to some good article).
3. link to article you specified.

I am 5' 9'' 209. My exit weight is 245. What should I be looking for in canopy size for my first rig?

Thanks.....
