The door to my office is all glass so i can't just shut the door. My fellow skydivers are the most creative people, give me some ideas.
CanuckInUSA 0 #2 February 22, 2010 Just don't do what this guy did in a very public place. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2010/01/22/snoozing-ttc.html BTW ... past jobs I had, had some great hiding places. But my current office has nothing good (outside of the bathroom and who can sleep on the shitter, not me). So napping at work for me is currently a "do not do it" thing. Andy9o8 2 #3 February 22, 2010 These may or may not work for you, depending on your circumstances. 1. Put some "work" in your lap, then turn your chair away from the door, and power-nap. (Your eyes need to not be visible from profile view). Done right, you'll look like you're "studying" the "work" in your lap. 2. If you have a multi-stalled men's room, take a quick power nap while sitting on the pot, with your head against the wall of the stall. 3. Can you sneak out to your car & sit in it for about 15 mins. undetected? Make sure you set your cell phone alarm for about 15-20 mins, but on vibrate. 4. Go to speaker's corner & join a gun thread. It will stimulate you past your fatigue twice as well as caffeine.

airathanas 0 #5 February 22, 2010 I used to have this "egg chair" in my office- It's a chair with a hood. I would curl up inside and take cat naps when I really needed it. Here's a picture: http://www.inmod.com/retmodeggpod.html The egg chair is no longer in my office (Not because I was caught napping in it ) http://3ringnecklace.com/
Niki1 1 #6 February 22, 2010 Go to the restroom and throw some cold water on your face. Then, jog up the stairwell and back down again. Put some more cold water on your face and go back to work. You're probably allowed a break so use it to WAKE UP. Trying to "sneak and goof off" just is not right. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. lostNspace 0 #7 February 22, 2010 It was in a movie, though someone will have to remind me what it's name was. The man behind the check in desk at a motel had eyes painted on his eyelids.

It has to be >30 mins before you actually get anything out of it and make a dent in your sleep debt. riddler 0 #11 February 23, 2010 Time to switch careers! Ironically, the only job I can think of where it's being discussed to take a nap seems like the most dangerous one: airline pilot I think if they want to allow pilots to take naps, they should require them to announce it during flight. "From the flight deck, this is first officer Junior Birdman, taking over for the Captain, who will be napping for the next 30 minutes. Feel free to sit back, relax and take a nap with us."Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD

FlyingJ 0 #13 February 23, 2010 I guess I'm lucky that I just go into the dorm at the station and crash out on a bed. Do you have a laptop? Turn your chair away from the window with the laptop on your lap? Really only works if you aren't a head bobber. Might give your co-workers a good laugh if you if you are though!Killing threads since 2004.
